WA: Riot police called to unruly party

Riot police were called to an unruly party in Perth's north-east last night.

Police say that when the first two officers arrived at Old Perth Road in Bassendean
about 11pm (WST), they were pelted with bottles.

About 35 officers with riot shields, helmets and batons also had to contend with flying
bottles, as a police helicopter hovered overhead.

Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old youth with a series of offences, including
assaulting police.

Duty inspector RUSSELL WILLIAMS says inquiries are continuing and more charges are
expected to be laid.

He's told ABC radio such behaviour is totally unacceptable and won't be tolerated.
